About Us

NerdCon is a celebration of gaming in all its forms – from tabletop RPGs to PC and console games, 3 card monte to back alley broken bottle fights NerdCon does it all. Founded in 2019 by a group of middle-aged men who had survived in the woods with each other after a plane crash, they dreamed of creating a new religion called “The Golden Squirrel”. After months of therapy, and a few anti-cult lawsuits, they shifted focus to create an event where their brand of gaming might escape the notice of local authorities. NerdCon has since gone from a small local gathering into one of the most anticipated clandestine small local gatherings tracked by over 20 international government agencies.

Our mission is simple: to foster connection and creativity in our members and honor the golden tail. That’s right we never stopped believing, not really. We believe that games are more than just entertainment – they're powerful tools for opening portals to higher planes in the woods if you have the right crow guide and bring enough acorns to the squirrel shamans of dark and light that inhabit most forests of our world.

Each year, NerdCon features:

• Building and setting up computers’ multiple times
• Trips to the plane of “Affgaanistan” (not to be confused with the country of Afghanistan)
• Multiple feasts themed honoring various pop culture figures, criminals, and forest creatures as dictated by the moon
• Play testing workshops for aspiring game designers
• Trips to other planes, as determined by sun position, location, and acorn supplies
• A vibrant barter-based marketplace featuring exclusive merchandise

From white collar fugitives to niche sex workers, seasoned con men to curious newcomers – everyone is welcome at our table, provided they pass our strict 10-point inspection and judgement of the golden squirrel. We're committed to creating a mysterious, aloof environment where all attendees can connect with fellow enthusiasts who share their passion while simultaneously wondering if they are being conned or “conned”.
